City Eats: Neptune’s Taphouse & Eatery, Livingston, Montana

Recently, Jason, Addy, and I were able to explore a new city in Montana that we cannot wait to travel back to. Livingston, Montana is overflowing with amazing restaurants, shops, and gorgeous views. I was also so inspired by all of the vintage signage in the town – some with Mid-Century influences. Before we arrived in Livingston, we decided that we wanted to try out Neptune’s Taphouse and Eatery – island-inspired cocktails and sushi in Montana? Sign us up!

Neptune’s was such a cool spot and we all loved the food, drinks, the island-inspired atmosphere, and the natural light flowing through all of the windows of the restaurant is the kind of delicious lighting that all photographers wish for.

We started with their Volcano Bowl, a sharable drink, which our server set aflame. Not only was the flaming drink ridiculously cool, it was legitimately tasty, too. We chose an Ahi tuna tower to start, which was served with wonton chips. Following that, we chose: The Popper, a Surf Style Roll with smoked salmon, cream cheese, jalapeño, and avocado inside, with tempura fried nori out, with a sweet soy and habanero masago and The First Mate, another Surf Style Roll (a term coined by Neptune’s) filled with spicy tuna, cucumber, mango, and cilantro, which was then topped with salmon, jalapeño masago, sriracha, and togarashi. We finished our meal with a peanut butter chocolate cake slice (Jason) and a key lime tart (me). To say that we enjoyed it and can’t wait to revisit Neptune’s AND Livingston would be an understatement.
